1) humans can live up to 100 years old and I used to think that's a long time! Recently I just realised that, if compared with the buildings around us, the trees, the STARS, 100 years seem so little, it's awfully pathetic. Now i only finally feeeeel the meaning behind the saying "life is too short" wow.
2) I think we're all just players trapped in a game that'll last for 100 years. The point is, we'll leave very soon. I don't know to where, or if we'll disappear into dust, but we'll leave, that is for sure.
3) So during this stay, humans can invent things as they like, or "set goals and achieve them" as they like, eat whatever, get married, visit places... etc get occupied with mundane things, doing them over and over again. but nothing really matters in the end cause we'll all die eventually anyway.
4) So it makes sense to not want any material things at all. Or fame, or success. Nothing. You can go for it just for fun, but never dwell too deeply. The process of chasing after these things involve too much misery. You'd think that the misery will be worth it, long term self-induced misery in exchange for short-lasting euphoria; yet clearly, the cost far outweighs the benefits.
5) If nothing matters, maybe education only serves to help people find their way around the game. Instead of figuring out yourselves, here! *hands them pamphlet through life* this is what we have been doing. Read pamphlet to minimise unnecessary confusion cause we've already solved THAT problem. Then, "life-long-learning" is important because you have so much time in your hands anyway. Might as well know more things to prevent making stupid choices.
6) Then, we humans need to help each other make it through this game together. We have religion to govern our hearts. We have doctors to heal physical injuries. We have friends to satisfy our emotional needs. That's why when asked "what is life", John Green answered "life is about other people".
7) If that's the case, doing medicine is cool. I can help people enjoy this game with minimal physical injuries as possible. It's not like anything matters.
